“Here is the deepest Secret nobody knows, (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope for a mind can hide) and this is the wonder that’s keep the stars apart. I carry your heart (I carry it it in my heart)” ~ e.e cummings
Becky and Gavin used this quote in their ceremony. A quote that encapsulates this couple. Becky and Gavin are childhood sweethearts. They met in their teens. There is a bond between them that is beautifully hard to explain. It’s like their knowing each other, goes deeper than most love stories. Perhaps its because they have grown up together, been through everything together. Each others everything and best friend for as long as time remembers ? There is a way that Gavin watches over Becky, it’s like he knows what every molecule, fiber of her being is doing at that exact moment. When he looks in her eyes, that he knows all that is to come and all that will ever be, lost to the universe of love that lays with in her eyes for him. Watching Becky interact with Gavin, is practically as spellbinding. She needs no spoken words to convey her thoughts, he is her whole world. I honestly believe I have been in their company and not heard a word, while entire conversations pass between them. It is very ethereal (if that’s even the right word) to be around such a love like this.
For their wedding they kept it as simple as such a celebration is meant to be. It was about celebrating their forever with their friends and family. They had no bridal party, Becky did her own hair and make up. Gavin had no groomsmen. They both got ready in their folks houses enjoying the merriment and chaos that the wedding morning brings. Time was passed in the lead up to the wedding with Becky’s family and friends making the flower girls outfits, spraying pumpkins, organising welcome baskets, piecing together flower garlands all in time for their autumnal wedding. There was no rush or panic about the “DIY” for this wedding. No fuss. Listening to Becky it reminded me of good old times when all the aunties and cousins etc would gather and stitch together blankets one square at a time. Months of work coming together over chats and giggles, creating something so magical and memorable, it lasts a life time.
We love Becky and Gavin, because they are two genuine honest to goodness people, we love them for their unique bond, more over we love them for having a “wedding.” They didn’t sweat the small stuff, it wasn’t about putting on a better day or having something different than other weddings. They just had a wedding. They got married.
The way its meant to be.
Full of love, full of family friends and forever.
She carries his heart (he carries hers, in his heart).
