One of the many things that we love most about our job it is meeting people and spreading the happiness that Poppiesandme has brought us. Its some times happens that you do a wedding for a really wonderful couple, a couple who asked you to stay for a few drinks or join the party the next day. You know in your business head that you can’t but your when your heart is jumping up and down telling you to stay, well you know that you have had the pleasure of capturing a really cool couple. Then you go home sad that its all over. A few years pass and you get this email starting “You guys were the photographers for my Brothers Wedding!” You mail back that yes of course you are freeeeee for the date. Sign us up we will be there!
So follows the story of Evelyn and Ronan who wed last March. Before we met them we knew they were going to be totally great! Their wedding which took place in the teeny tiny church of St Johns in Cratloe, was intimate and loving. The music picked by pair were the classic songs we would have all learned as school children, so rather beautifully people all joined in despite themselves. The rain hammered off the windows, yet everyone was snug as the candles flickered (and for Ronan wouldn’t stop flickering.) It was the first time in a long time that we had shot a wedding in really bad rain. Looking over the blog you wouldn’t think it, thankfully there were windows of freezing sunshine before the next downpour. It was the first time also that there was no real worry about it either. The couple were so so relaxed, it was contagious.
Sean saw one of the images from this wedding on Facebook last night. He said, “Do you remember that day, the rain, the skipping, the BOOM, the sandwiches and brandy, how chilled and happy they were?” I replied with a nod and a smile. “Ya that was an awesome day” said Sean.
It really was, Evelyn and Ronan, it was so great to meet ye ( again) and your friends and families. Thank you for being fun loving and for totally shaking up Dromoland Castle. YE ROCK!
