Love in the Connemara Hills

I have been patiently waiting for our wedding season to kick off. I am like an excited child on Christmas eve waiting for all the adventure that is coming our way in 2015. To tide me over I started going through the Poppiesandme archives. I have to say after a few days of strolling down memory lane, I have fallen madly in love with our profession and landscape in which we live all over again. Sean and myself are so deeply in love with the wilds of our land, we see the beauty in the barren landscapes and soggy bogs. We can see magic where others see none. However, looking back over these images I am captivated by them. I guess that is the bewitching charm of our land. I am so, so glad that our couples are only to happy to walk in those soggy bogs and walk across fields and hills to use one of the most beautiful canvases in the world.
I am only sorry there was not time enough before now to share with you this fiery Connemara wedding. Our lovely pair Cormac and Susan chose the amazing location of Renvyle House to celebrate. Renvyle is a slice of heaven on earth, its beaches are made of dreams. As it was late in the year the surrounding hills and bogs of Tullyglass glowed warmly in shades of pumpkin and earthy crimson. The textures of the soft tall grasses and the crisp gorse with their fading coconut sent, against the tawny back drop were incredible. At the time I thought how wonderful to be wrapped up in a blanket of such proper Irish magic on your wedding day. This morning I am think how perfect a place for such a warm and loving couple. Did they really choose this place or did it in fact choose them?
